Scene Infrastructure Company is looking for a Protocol Lead

Building better instruments for socialization comes down to the three Ps: people, protocols, and possibilities. So we asked ourselves, is it possible our protocol person is somewhere out there, just looking for a sign? Quality pay, meaningful stake, and world-changing work are waiting for you at Scene Infrastructure Company.

This is a fit for you if...

You’re as skilled at Solidity as you are curious about how people feel when they interact with blockchains. You’ve got a strong background in writing clean, well-documented code. You’re excited by systems and think critically about the impact of every function call. You think there are exciting new ways to capture value onchain that haven’t been fully explored yet, and want to work with a team that feels the same way and is obsessed with proving that out. You’ve got an unrepentant desire to build things that feel like magic. Bonus points if any of the following apply: you’ve got IRL friends you originally met online, and online friends you originally met IRL, and sometimes you can’t keep track anymore; you’ve spent time moshing in backyards or dancing in warehouses and then talking about it afterwards on forums or in groupchats; you have encyclopedic knowledge of something hyper-specific that most people don’t know about and just want someone to listen to you about it for a few minutes.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain smart contracts in Solidity, with special attention paid to security, efficiency, and scalability - Work closely with the product team to conceptualize and build innovative consumer-facing features, contributing to overall product vision by taking the reins of the protocol layer - Critically evaluate product requirements, making informed decisions about the division of logic between on-chain and off-chain components - Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle, including writing well-designed, testable code and debugging complex issues - Act as a thought partner on a small and effective team, providing insights and recommendations on blockchain technology and its application to product development

Qualifications

- Ideally: 3+ years of experience in Solidity development, with a strong portfolio of deployed contracts - Strong analytical skills, with the ability to think critically about product design and architecture from a user and business perspective - Self-starter by default with the ability to own projects and work independently - Experience in debugging, testing, and code optimization - Knowledge of back-end and front-end development is a plus, but not required
